3 DIY Fall Decor Ideas You Can Do In A Day

Introduction

It’s officially fall, and that means the time for cozy sweaters, pumpkin spice lattes, and tons of apple cider is here! Aside from those delightful things, I also love this season because it’s the perfect time to cozify my home with DIY decor. It just so happens that I’m also a lazy person who runs out of steam about three minutes into any project. So for me, the best DIY fall decor projects are ones that don’t require a ton of effort or days of hard work—even better if they can be done in under an hour. If you’re like me (and hate having to slave away on a project you’ll wind up hating), give one of these easy-peasy DIY fall decor ideas a try.

Fall Front Porch Decor.

Add some fall decor:

  • Fall pumpkins, gourds, and mums. Pumpkins are the most common fall decoration, but there are many other types of squash and gourds that can be used too. Gourds come in varying shapes and sizes. You can also add some dried corn husks to your wreath if you want to bring in those colors as well!
  • Leaves! Get some colorful orange leaves (or ones with other colors) and try decorating a simple small pumpkin with them by laying it horizontally on top of the pumpkin. You could also add pine cones for a natural touch!
  • Candles! These will add warmth to your front porch by adding light into an otherwise dark space during these cold months. If you want to go all out then try using pillar candles instead because they are sturdier than votive ones which tend to get knocked over easily when people walk past them on their way inside or outside the house depending on how much snow has fallen recently from trees nearby (we recommend purchasing outdoor versions). Alternatively you could use tea lights instead if budget isn’t an issue 🙂

Fall Leaf Garland.

  • Use a wire hanger or other similar object to hang your garland.
  • Hot glue leaves to the wire in an alternating pattern, making sure that they overlap but don’t stick together (see photo above).
  • Attach string at one end of the garland and tie it up in a bow when you’re done!

Pumpkin Vase.

Pumpkin Vase

This is one of the easiest fall decor ideas you can do. All you need is a pumpkin, flowers, and a vase. The rest are simple supplies that will cost you under $10 at most stores.

If you have small pumpkins laying around your house and want to make use of them for this DIY project, that’s awesome! However, if not, don’t worry—you can buy them from any grocery store or even dollar store during Halloween season (if they don’t sell them already). The same goes for the vases: You can get creative with what kind of vases to use but I recommend getting something taller than wide so it doesn’t look too crowded inside your house once all the decorations are in place!

When it comes to decorating for fall, you don’t have to worry about spending tons of money. Instead of spending money on expensive store-bought decorations, use your imagination and creativity as they are great resources that are free.

Look around your house for inspiration. You might find some ideas in your pantry or in the garage. Even if you don’t find any inspiration right away, don’t give up! Just keep looking until you do find something interesting or useful. It may be an old magazine or even just the way that certain items are arranged on top of each other that gives you an idea for how you could use them differently this year than last year (or maybe even ever before). These kinds of things can be used by anyone with anything available at home—it doesn’t matter if it’s a $100 tree branch from last year’s holiday party or just some tinsel from around the house; either way it helps create something unique!

Conclusion

With just a little effort, you can make your home into a warm, inviting place for the fall season. You don’t have to spend a lot of money on decorations either—these DIYs are easy and inexpensive to create with items you probably already have around the house. From garlands made from leaves gathered in your backyard to pumpkins painted gold in honor of the upcoming holidays, there are so many fun ways to bring autumn into your home. And if that wasn’t enough, these projects also make great gifts when paired with fresh flowers or baked goods! Just remember not all things go as planned so it’s important that we try our best even when things don’t work out perfectly
