Earth Day: Celebrities Join Hands to Promote Sustainable Living

Artistic representation for Earth Day: Celebrities Join Hands to Promote Sustainable Living

As the world celebrates Earth Day on April 22, the focus remains on environmental conservation and sustainability. This year’s theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” highlights the importance of renewable energy and clean electricity. The theme is a call to unite around sustainable practices to achieve a significant milestone: tripling clean electricity by 2030. While governments and corporations are taking steps to reduce their carbon footprint, individuals, especially celebrities, are making a conscious effort to adopt eco-friendly habits.

Many celebrities have turned to homegrown veggies and sustainable gardening as a way to live a more sustainable lifestyle. Actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani is one such example. He and his partner Rakul Preet Singh have set up a kitchen garden in their Mumbai home, cultivating organic veggies and herbs.

  1. Jackky Bhagnani’s decision to adopt sustainable gardening was driven by his interest in health and wellness.
  2. He believes that fertilizers used in conventional agriculture contain high levels of chemicals that can lead to various health issues.
  3. As a result, Jackky and Rakul decided to start a kitchen garden to grow their own veggies and herbs.

“We firmly believe that we are what we eat, and that’s why we decided to set up a kitchen garden,” Jackky explained to Zee News Digital. “We started with small containers and gradually increased our space as we gained experience.”

Advantages of Sustainable Gardening Benefits
Healthy Soil Rich in nutrients and microorganisms
Organic Compost Improves soil structure and fertility
Therapeutic Process Reduces stress and promotes mindfulness

“Growing your own food is a very therapeutic process,” said Jackky Bhagnani. “You see life emerging from a seed that you have planted and watered. It’s a sense of accomplishment and pride that’s hard to find elsewhere.”

In an interview with Zee News Digital, Jackky Bhagnani shared his experience of setting up sustainable gardening in their Mumbai home. He emphasized that it’s not a difficult process, but rather a matter of having healthy soil, organic compost, and a little bit of research and passion. He also highlighted the therapeutic benefits of gardening, which can reduce stress and promote mindfulness.

“We’ve been doing this for a while now, and the taste and health quotient are decisively better,” said Jackky. “We’re not just growing food, we’re also supporting local farmers and reducing our carbon footprint. It’s a win-win situation.”

As the world continues to celebrate Earth Day, it’s heartening to see celebrities like Jackky Bhagnani taking a proactive stance towards sustainability.
