Hi everyone! My name is Kevin Huynh and I live in Portland, Oregon. I am an avid traveler who loves spending time outdoors as much as possible. My favorite place to go on dates with my girlfriend is The Chinese Garden located at 79th and Holgate. We have had many great times there such as feeding the koi fish or sitting down for some tea in their beautiful outdoor teahouse at sunset!

The Tea House at the Chinese Garden has been serving up excellent food and drinks for over 30 years now so come on over!
The Chinese Garden was created by Portland’s sister city, Chongqing, China as part of their “friendship” exchange program. The project took three years to complete (1976-1978) but now stands as one of the most beautiful parks in all of Oregon!

If you want to stay close to home, then this is definitely the place for you! The Chinese Garden’s Tea House and Garden is perfect for families because it’s quiet, peaceful, safe and not too crowded. The view from inside is beautiful so I would recommend going during sunset or sunrise if possible (especially during warm weather).
If there are children in your family then look no further than The Chinese Garden’s Tea House & Garden! There will be plenty to keep them occupied including:

- Terrariums filled with various types of plants that teach about nature’s diversity;
- An outdoor area where kids can play soccer around an artificial grass field while adults relax under shade trees on nearby picnic tables watching them play while enjoying their own meal/drinks (no alcohol allowed outside unless supervised by parent).
