Write the Next Chapter of Your Life

Introduction

The garden shed may very well be the most underrated yet under-appreciated feature of your yard. It’s a place where you can store your lawn mower, snow blower, and other seasonal tools when they’re not in use. But that’s only the beginning! Here are just some of the ways that a well-placed or even well-hidden garden shed can change your life for the better:

How a garden shed can improve your life

A garden shed can be a place to escape. It can be a place to relax, think, or be creative. But most importantly, it’s a place to be alone with your thoughts. And when you’re in the middle of re-writing your life’s story and plotting out a new course for yourself, what could be better than having some privacy?

Here are some other reasons why having a garden shed may improve your life:

  • A garden shed is private. You can go there whenever you want (or don’t want) without having to worry about anyone else being there with you. Your kids won’t interrupt any more than they already do!
  • A garden shed gives us an opportunity to think about things differently than we normally would—and maybe come up with solutions we never considered before! We’ve all had that moment where someone says something unexpected…but we’re too afraid/embarrassed/busy etcetera ad nauseum to respond the way we really wanted too—and often regretting it later on down the line (perhaps even years later). With no one around except ourselves in our own little bubble world outside space and time…we’ll never have those regrets again!

The happiness that comes from having your own little place in the yard.

It’s a small shed, but it’s your own little place. After years of living in apartments with shared space and communal living, the satisfaction of having a place that is yours alone can be amazing. Your shed will be where you feel comfortable being yourself. You can go there when you need some peace and quiet after a tough day at work or just want to get away from the family for a while. It will be your sanctuary, your happy place—a little space where nothing else matters except how good it feels to be there with all of your things around you.

You may never have thought about what makes us so happy until we lose something that made us happy (like our garden shed). So instead of making plans for next summer, consider what would make this summer great right now!

It’s yours, and you can do whatever you want with it.

  • You can make it a place to relax and unwind.
  • You can make it a place to work on a hobby.
  • You can make it a place to store things.
  • You can make it a place to create things.

Sheds can be big or small, depending on how much room you need.

Now, if you haven’t figured it out yet, the size of your shed is going to depend on how much storage space that you require. In other words, if you want to store all of your possessions in your shed and have more room for friends and family members to live in there with you (because who wouldn’t want their own private garden shed?), then perhaps a larger model is needed. But if all that’s required from the shed is somewhere for some tools and maybe a few bits of firewood or coal then maybe something smaller would be better suited.

A good rule of thumb when considering how big/small your garden shed should be: take what its primary purpose will be as well as future plans into consideration (such as having children) then multiply by around three times – this will give an approximate estimate of what size should suit best!

It’s an escape from the busy world around you.

A shed is a place to relax, think, be alone and away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It’s almost like having your own personal retreat where no one can bother you. The shed is also where I go when I need some quiet time away from my family.

When I am working in my garden shed, it’s an escape from the busy world around me. The sounds of kids playing outside or people talking on their phones fade away as soon as I close the door behind me and get lost in my work (or sometimes television). When it comes time for dinner, it’s always nice to know that no matter what else is going on around me there will be a meal ready at hand when I come back out into reality again later!

It’s the ideal spot for a soul-searching talk with yourself or a friend.

The shed offers you shelter from the elements, both natural and manmade. The world outside is noisy, distracting, chaotic and stressful—and it can often be invading your own mind as well. But in your shed you can step away from all the commotion to find quietude and reflect on what matters most in life.

Maybe it’s not even in your yard; maybe it’s a place in nature where you can get away from everything.

What is it?

It’s not just any one place, but a collection of spots that offer the perfect opportunity for reflection and solitude. Maybe it’s not even in your yard; maybe it’s a place in nature where you can get away from everything. These are places where the world seems to slow down and there is nothing but peace and quiet. You can find these special places everywhere, if you know how: they are often hidden away on back roads or tucked into small parks that are easily missed as you drive past them on your way to work or school every day. Wherever they might be, these special places hold great meaning for those who frequent them—they provide an escape from reality, allowing us all an opportunity for some much-needed respite from our busy lives as well as an opportunity to take advantage of their serene surroundings by spending some time alone with ourselves (or perhaps with another person).

A garden shed, wherever it is, is a place of peace and purity and simplicity.

Conclusion

It’s not just about the garden shed itself. It’s about what you bring to it. Maybe you can change your life for the better with a garden shed, but it really comes down to you and your imagination, your personality, and how much love you want to put into it. There’s no right or wrong way to use a garden shed—it depends on who you are as an individual—but we do think there are some universal truths about what makes the perfect garden shed experience. You need space, solitude, and somewhere outside of your everyday life where you can go to escape from reality or grapple with yourself and your desires. If that sounds like something you might enjoy having in your own life, then we highly recommend building a garden shed!
